Tarsiers of Bohol in South Kensington
I was slightly surprised to get onto the London Underground and see posters of the Tarsiers of Bohol staring out at me. They are being used to advertise an exhibition entitled Life in the Dark at the Natural History Museum. I would not have thought that most people in the UK would associate nocturnal animals with Tarsier Monkeys. Bats, yes, monkeys, no. However, Tarsiers are extremely photogenic with those huge, alien eyes designed to help them hunt their prey in the dark. The exhibition looks like an excellent exploration of life in the dark, and I plan to go before the exhibition ends in January 2019

Tarsiers are the. smallest primates in the world and are an endangered species. A sanctuary has been developed in Bohol and is well worth a visit. Of course it should be remembered that Tarsiers are a shy animal and should not have cameras shoved under their noses. A visit can be included as part of a day trip, perhaps to include one of the zipwire adventures, or a river cruise combined with lunch.
